What is the story behind your business' name?
Our recipes are inspired by our journey as Kurdish refugees which took us from Iraq into Iran then Pakistan and finally the United States where we slowly picked up different languages, cultures, and cuisine. So, we couldn't just decide on one type of cuisine to cook as we have been influenced by a variety of foods from around the world.

World Plates is a family-run food trailer in Lincoln, NE, dedicated to bringing global flavors to the heart of Nebraska. With roots in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, the team at World Plates offers a unique dining experience that reflects both their heritage and the rich cultures they’ve embraced as part of their journey as refugees. Their mission is to serve up dishes that not only satisfy but also tell a story of cultural connection and culinary passion.
The Habibi Menu is a feast for those who crave bold, authentic flavors. Whether it's the savory rice bowls, loaded fries, or fresh salads topped with chicken or lamb/beef gyro and the Spicy Habibi Sauce, every dish is crafted with care. For a true taste of the Mediterranean, the "Tour of the Mediterranean" offers a trio of tacos filled with chicken or beef/lamb, complemented by tzatziki, hummus, and garlic spread.
