Ahmed Quraja was born in Palestine and learned to cook shortly after moving to the United States. Cooking was his way of connecting to others. Once he got into the culinary arts professionally, Ahmed quickly became known across Columbus, OH for his friendly attitude as much as his talents in the kitchen. Now, he’s the proud owner of several establishments, including Zaki Grill. This little food truck allows Ahmed to roll around the city and bring mouth-watering Mediterranean fare straight to eager customers. Zaki is Arabic for “delicious.” While the name’s no doubt a boastful choice, the eats Ahmed and his team whip up more than live up to the bold claim. Here, you’ll find loads of Mediterranean favorites. Start of with an order of grape leaves slathered in a lemon marinade or some falafel balls dusted with cumin and other full-bodied spices. From there, grab your main course. Try a bowl of chicken shawarma smothered in turmeric, paprika, and garlic sauce.
