Chefs Casey Felton and Armen Piskoulian met while they were both working at the Tasting Kitchen in Venice, where they quickly discovered they shared similar culinary passions. After ending up working in Australia together, they fell in love with the Vietnamese classic that is banh mi. Eventually, they landed in Los Angeles, CA and decided to share that love with lucky Angelenos via Banh Oui. This catering company whips up pristine takes on the international sandwich avid eaters throughout the City of Angels would be remiss to miss.
The sammies here, each one served on a fresh French roll, go well above and beyond the average bahn mi fixings as they sport loads and loads of unique filling combinations. Meat-lovers will enjoy a blend of pork belly and chicken liver pâté served alongside pickled carrot and daikon, cucumber, and jalapeño all sprinkled in a blend of robust spices. Vegetarians can sink their teeth into a sammie chock-full of pickled veggies, roasted mushrooms, and sesame chickpea puree. Don’t forget a side of garlic cilantro fries, of course. Getting hungry? Then either find Banh Oui out on the streets or book ‘em for your next get-together. Either way, it’s a sound decision.
Chicken Katsu Banh Oui — That classic toasty French roll stuffed with panko breaded chicken, chicken liver pâté, and a mouth-watering blend of pickled veggies and spices to create an unmatched bold flavor.
