Here at Roaming Hunger we take lunch seriously. So seriously, in fact, that once a week we have a food truck stop by our West Hollywood headquarters in what can only be described as a deliciously indulgent afternoon. This week’s truck, Farmers Belly, was definitely a team favorite, offering a rotating selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and more, all crafted with the freshest offerings of each season. Check out what a typical Roaming Hunger company lunch looks like and chances are you’ll be booking a food truck to come to your office by the end of this post.
The worst part about a rotating lineup of incredible gourmet food trucks coming to your office every week? Trying to decide what to order! The Farmers Belly menu truly had something for everyone, from veggie options to tender, juicy burgers for the hungry meat lover. But we’ll get to raving about the food later. One of the best parts about having a food truck come to our office is the opportunity to get up from our desk, head outside, and chat it up with coworkers. I even find myself in line next to someone I rarely interact with during the workday and nothing broke the ice more than the two of us deciding what to order from the plethora of tasty options.
So now you’re free from your desk, away from that computer screen, and having a mini social hour with colleagues and the promise of an incredible lunch awaits you. Except…what about all those emails you have to answer? And that after lunch meeting to prepare for? Do you really have time to be waiting in line during a busy workday? Well, in the case of the Farmers Belly truck, and with the majority of trucks that have catered to Roaming Hunger, the “waiting in line” part is hardly a wait.
And because the food was already paid for by our company, there was no need for the exchanging of cash, receiving our change, or signing our credit card receipts. Farmers Belly was fast, efficient, and extremely friendly when it came time to order. Within 10 minutes our food was ready and presented at the pick-up window with a smile, leaving plenty of time to get back to those urgent emails.
Now for the best part…the food! Farmers Belly blew all of us away here at Roaming Hunger, and that’s saying a lot considering we’re a company full of foodies. Their dedication to using fresh and local ingredients was evident by how amazing everything tasted. Popular salads included the California Chicken Salad with organic free-range chicken, cherry tomatoes, red onion, garbanzo beans, smoked Applewood bacon bits, avocado, baby greens, and a house vinaigrette and the Smoked Salmon Avocado Salad with cherry tomatoes, red onion, baby greens, sprouts, chives, and a honey mustard dressing. Both of these salads were superb and all the veggies used tasted like they came straight from grandma’s garden.
Those looking for something a little heartier found it with the Reuben Melt, a heavenly combination of corned beef brisket, sauerkraut, cheddar, provolone/mozzarella blend, and house Russian sauce on marble rye bread.
The general consensus of the office seemed to be that the fries were a must order item. Behold the Pesto Fries, zesty house seasoned fries with chives and fresh pesto, and the Truffle Fries, zesty house seasoned fries with chives and truffle oil. Some chose to make their lunch extra decadent with the Truffle Burger, 6 oz. of humanely treated beef, grilled white onion, melted brie cheese, crisp romaine, heirloom tomato, and truffle aioli on a pretzel bun.
Overall, Farmers Belly was a huge hit with the Roaming Hunger team. The food was excellent, the service was fast and friendly, and everyone got a chance to spend some time outside and do a little socializing. Ready for your next company lunch to be this delicious? Book a food truck here.
