Every years hundreds of thousands of people flood the streets of New Orleans to have a great time celebrating the states’ history and culture. This year dozens of food trucks entered a special lottery for a chance to be among the few parked along the carnival parade route. Below you can find a few of the lucky trucks that were selected and the wide variety of dishes that they serve.
Mardi Gras Parade & Food Truck Route
La Cocinita is a not so little red food truck serving gourmet, fresh and authentic Latin American street food. They’ll take your taste buds from Mexico and all the way down South American with their tacos and arepas. With their “built your own” style menu you just can’t go wrong. Keep it all contained in a nice size bowl or make it sloppy with some “burri-tacos” and as many sauces as you’d like.
Crepes a la Cart is a Parisian Style crepe cart that is plating up both sweet and savory crepes. Whether you’re a Nutella, Speculoos and fruit person or the chicken cordon bleu and smoked salmon type, they have something to satisfy everyone’s palate.
Theo’s Neighborhood Pizza Truck keeps it simple but amazing by serving up excellent pizza, sandwiches and salads. If you can’t catch the truck you can also swing by their brick-and-mortar locations where they often have weekly beer and wine specials!
Cocoa and Cream is a husband and wife mobile catering company that is dishing out all things comfort. You can order your wings 3 different ways, keep it classic with burgers and chicken tenders or bring it on home with the NOLA way by ordering a shrimp po’boy or ice snoball.
Saigon Slim’s Food Truck serves up an interesting fusion of Vietnamese and Creole flavors. With dishes like cajun spring rolls, spicy vietnamese po’boys and bananas foster spring rolls, topped with vanilla ice cream and rum sauce you’re sure to get the best of both worlds in any dish you select.
If you weren’t able to make it out to celebrate Carnival and Mardi Gras this year don’t fret, you can find these trucks and more roaming around NOLA all year round!
