Drift is an unorthodox food truck, and we mean that in the best way, of course. Not only was the trailer designed from the wheels up to reflect New Zealand's open air caravans/mobile cafes, it's also bringing kiwi comfort food to Milwaukee. Probably the last place on earth you'd think to find international cuisine that's as true to form as it is delicious. But Drift is the tasty exception to the rule, inspired by a love for travel and passion for food. Ever since she was little, Rachel Hawken had a gift for baking. But when she grew up, she unwittingly found herself in the corporate world, allowing her to travel and live in exotic places like New Zealand. For six years, Rachel observed the kiwi's food culture, centered around mobile cafes at beaches serving surfers with the local favorites: hearty pies and great coffee. Using her business sense and newfound passion, it was then and there that Rachel formulated the plan for Drift, returning to Milwaukee to share the food she'd grown to love, and knew they'd love too. At Drift, you'll find a menu full of pies, biscuits, pudding and breakfast scones, alongside a "flat white": New Zealand for espresso. So what are you waiting for?
