Founded in 2022 in Northern Illinois, Hippie Gourmet Grilled Cheese was born from owner Dave’s vision: to take the classic grilled cheese and elevate it with bold flavors, quality ingredients, and a laid-back, feel-good vibe. The name says it all: “Hippie” reflects our roots in real, mindful food made with care. “Gourmet” speaks to our elevated approach—pairing cheeses like aged sharp cheddar, white cheddar, pepper jack, and house-made beer cheese with premium meats like smoked pork shoulder bacon, brisket, pork belly, and add ins like tangy kimchi smoked grilled onions, sun dried tomatoes and Jalapeño peppers. “Grilled Cheese” is the comfort food base that ties it all together. We’re proud to serve handcrafted sandwiches with a little attitude and a lot of soul.
