Jason Kaplan loves all things bagel. Growing up, his mom packed a bagel in his lunch every single day when he went to school. Brought up on the east coast, he got more than spoiled by the bevy of on-point bagels sold throughout his hometown. However, upon migrating to Los Angeles, CA in 2004, he noticed a distinct lack of his favorite bread-based product. Like many entrepreneurs, Jason took it upon himself to fill in the gap in the marketplace. With that, Maury’s was born.
Believing anything worth doing is worth doing right, Jason spent over a year experimenting with bagel making before finding a recipe that struck the perfect balance of crispy and chewy that marks a quality bagel.
