Hawaiian Style Shave Ice

What is the story behind your business' name?

Snowie Icy Desserts was the first thing that came to mind when we were trying to describe the texture of our Shave ice. The fluffiness remind people of the actual snow, and our delicious fruit flavors transport them back to their vacation in Hawaii. Our Hawaiian style serving is served over a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with Condensed milk, coconut flakes and Li Hing Mui Powder. As time went by, we added Boba Tea, Real Fruit Smoothies- Mango/Lime/Tajin/Chamoy being one of our most popular, and a Delicious Artesian Ice Cream Bar to our Icy Desserts menu and Our hand crafted Sundaes, Banana Splits, waffle cones are a BIG HIT at every event. Ultimately a combination of all our snowie and icy treats is the perfect definition of Snowie Icy Desserts!

Where did you learn to cook?

I learned how to make Shave Ice from all of my fun vacations to Hawaii.

Why did you decide to start your business?

As a Former School Counselor, I love kids and wanted to continue working with them even when stepping away from my counseling profession. Now I get to see them on a happy note. My desserts truck is like a Fair on wheels so Kids are happy, Parents are happy and we are all just having some fun. I started up with a PoP-Up for special events and then upgraded to a food truck when festivals and large gatherings were put on hold. My goal was to bring the festival experience to very single family.

Who encouraged you the most to start your own business?

Kennedy Fairs were the ones who motivated me to start my own business. I love going to their events so i decided to create something fun and join them in the fun. My parents were also a big motivation because they owned many businesses when I was going up and leaned a lot about being a business owner. I suppose the biggest motivation was the desire for limitless, fun and the ability to create my menu with quality and love.

The Rose Bowl Stadium for sure!!! Being part of their concessions team is a total Blast!!
