Philly Jay’s Steaks is treating Los Angeles, CA to their eponymous City of Brotherly Love classic with the help of the illustrious Chef Jason McClain. Chef Jason’s worked in a litany of seriously impressive, highly rated restaurants across the country. Now, he’s directing his myriad of skills towards perfecting the philly, elevating the down-home fare to the status of gourmet.
The menu sports classic phillies, of course, and you really can’t go wrong with that perennially popular mashup of cheese, fried onion, and paper-thin slices of steak. However, that’s far from the only enticing concoction gracing the menu. You’ll also find a philly suited up with everything from fried peppers to provolone cheese to garnishes like oregano. Stomach rumbling yet? Then we have good news – Philly Jay’s Steak caters, so have ‘em out to your next event.
Philly Cheesesteak — A classic philly with American cheese, Provolone, and fried onions served on an Amoroso roll.
Philly Jay is what my mom calls me. The only person that calls me Jay is my mom. On the way home, when I played sports, she’d always say “Let’s go get cheesesteaks.”
I went to the Culinary Institute of America, worked for the Four Seasons, and own two restaurants.
I love food. This is my fun project. I want to sell it as the authentic cheesecake. I think California is missing a great sandwich.
My wife was like, “You need to go. You need to do this.” My wife likes more fast casual food.
The classic philly cheesesteak is my favorite. The American and Provolone, fried onions, and the Amoroso roll.
