In Hawaiian culture, the word “ohana” means family, but encompasses a much larger aspect of island life. It describes a culture where all members of a community, not just blood relatives, come together to care for one another and create a society based on mutual support. The folks at The Ohana Cafe wanted to bring a little tropical camaraderie straight to Phoenix, AZ. Not only do they run this food trailer with a friendly, hospitable spirit, they make some great food.
So, what’s on the menu? For your sweet tooth, there’s a whole range of tasty drinks and desserts packed with tropical flavors like coconut and pineapple. On the savory side of things, there are loads of traditional dishes. For example, try some loco moco for breakfast for a protein-packed plate of rice, hamburger, fried egg, and brown gravy. There’s also loads of old-fashioned comfort foods with some Hawaiian flare, like chicken wings seasoned with a sweet-and-spicy blend of jalapeño and pineapple. Getting hungry?
