What is the story behind your business' name?

Welcome to Wok This Way, LLC. My name is Kris Mill, Founder/Co-Owner and and my business partner, Jake Lipovitch, co-owner of Wok This Way, LLC. We are Arizona's First CERTIFIED GREEN Food Truck with a Cause. We are a 100% vegan/vegetarian asian wok style food truck by using flavor thru freshness while empowering the strengths of individuals in the special needs community with employment. My nephew, Jake, was born with Down Syndrome. From the start we were bonded! We are involved in Special Olympics, hiking, and cooking! He has developed into a wonderful chef and this is where the concept began. We had pop up restaurants throughout the valley, tasting parties, and years of hard work to get where we are today. He has inspired me to look at what others strengths are and to build on them. So, along came the food truck with a cause! We use flavor through freshness! You will not find a can opener on this truck! We use only organic foods and plant based proteins to provide asian food that is gluten free, NO NUTS OR SEEDS, and vegan/vegetarian.

Wok This Way is a food truck with a cause. Arizona’s first certified GREEN food truck, in 2019 they received “Platinum Status” from the city of Phoenix for being Zero Waste. What does that exactly mean? Everything used in this truck is 100% compostable, right down to the utensils. Wok This Way is co-owned by Kris Mill, and his nephew, Jake, who has Down Syndrome. Together, they have developed the truck that empowers people with special needs through employment. That’s not the only powerful part of their operations. Wok This Way is vegetarian/vegan and uses only the freshest fruits, vegetables, and plant-based proteins in their Asian Wok Style entrées. Meat lovers will crave the proteins without knowing they’re supporting the environment via “flavor thru freshness.” You will not find a can opener on this truck!
