There are tons of food days out there, but not many that deal with food trucks. That’s about to change! On Friday, June 24th get ready for the one of the best excuses yet to get out of your office and enjoy lunch outside during the first ever National Eat At A Food Truck Day. Created to celebrate food trucks and the people who operate them, as well as the amazing food itself, this day dedicated to the foodie culture is not to be missed.
With trucks in cities nationwide participating in what could be considered the tastiest day of the year, everyone will have the opportunity to eat something really, really good next Friday. Over 300 food trucks are ready to serve up their best bites including Yeastie Boys Bagels (Los Angeles, CA); The Cheesie’s Truck (Chicago, IL); Toum Food Truck (New York, NY); The Boneyard (San Francisco, CA); Fire Truck Crepes (Denver, CO); Grilled Addiction (Phoenix, AZ); Tastybus (Atlanta, GA); City Slickers (Portland, OR); Saucey Sliderz (Houston, TX) and BoxBurger (Indianapolis, IN) to name a few. National Eat At A Food Truck is giving foodies an opportunity to support small businesses and say thank you to the hardworking food truck owners and operators that get up early and stay out late so that we never have to eat a boring meal again.
So how do you partake in the National Eat At A Food Truck Day festivities? Step up to the window of your favorite truck and say the phrase “Celebrate food trucks” in order to receive a special deal. Whether it’s a free drink with the purchase of an entree to 10% off any purchase, your food will taste just a little bit more delectable on a day dedicated to eating gourmet food truck fare. Wondering who’s participating? Simply use the Roaming Hunger app to find and track food trucks in your city. And if you’re feeling left out because you’re too far to take a stroll to that amazing grilled cheese truck in your city, new Uber users can take advantage of the code “foodtruck16” to get a free ride (up to $20) straight to those loaded cheddar bacon tator tots. The idea is simple and the result is delicious. Head outside, bring a friend, grab a taco, and show a food truck some love.
