Macao Tourism

Wow Macao

What better way to draw interest to an exotic location than with the enticing dishes available in the region? Macao, a foodie hot spot on the south coast of China, wanted to promote its recent accreditation as a recognized city of gastronomy. The city boasts more Michelin Star Restaurants per square mile than anywhere in the world. So RMNG and the #WOWMacao 2018 Sampling Program brought traditional Macanese Egg Tarts and Pork Chop Buns to unsuspecting passersby at five NYC and five Los Angeles/Orange County locations.

The experiential marketing tour featured a custom promotional vehicle as well as a small buildout. The buildout included two custom printed banners, a TV that played a looping video highlighting the culture and cuisine of Macao, mat flooring that emulated Macao’s famous black and white tile, and of course free samples of the Egg Tarts and Pork Chop Buns.

But the goal of the pop up marketing tour wasn’t just food related. Macao is working on breaking away from its reputation of being the “Vegas” of China by educating potential travelers on everything else the area has to offer. During each experiential marketing tour stop, Brand Ambassadors passed out informational booklets, keychains, stickers, and chopsticks that promoted the gorgeous city.
