Food Trucks
Like it's neighboring cities, Dallas, Austin, and Houston, San Antonio is another Texan city that has been taking its food to the streets. Food trucks may even have it better in this Texas town because of its placement on CNN's top 10 fastest growing cities list. As San Antonio's hungry population continues to climb, the street food industry has been more than happy to expand along with it. Residents are so happy about these growing businesses that they recently opened up the Boardwalk on Bulverde, the first family-friendly Food Truck Park in North San Antonio. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday you can join in on the food and festivities on Bulverde Road, and don't forget to pack a cooler because the park is BYOB. A crowd favorite sure to be there is the Rickshaw Stop Truck. This family owned and operated truck specializes in two particular menu items: Pakistani Kebabs and Samosas. The Kebabs are marinated for a total of 48 hours, exactly, in order to soak in the perfect amount of spices. The Samosas, a fried pastry containing your choice of filling, are also crunchy and flavorful. Another popular San Antonio truck is the Where Ya at Truck, which delivers classic Cajun dishes like their famous Po-Boy sandwich (made with your choice of shrimp, oyster, crawfish or soft shell crab).
